Congratulations to Granite United on their back-to-back GNMESL Championships. They defeted an exceptionally talented Open Door squad by a score of 10-5. 1st Annual GNMESL All-Star Game Proves to be a Hit!
Players, coaches, officials and fans all had a great time at the 1st Annual GNMESL All-Star Game played the evening of Tuesday, June 13th at Labine Park in Nashua. The gray skies did nothing to dampen everyone's spirits as the Odd squad jumped out to an early lead and then hung on for a competitive 20-11 win over the Even squad. With the wind blowing in the long ball proved a bit elusive, but with hit after hit players from both sides showed why they were selected to represent their teams. Outstanding defensive play was also on display with a couple nifty double plays, some great catches and one face stop (how's the tooth Jesse?). Congratulations to Ricky DeBernardo from River of Life Purple on taking home the MVP award. Ricky blasted two homeruns on the night. In addition to his MVP plaque, he took home a new car. Of course, the Hot Wheel variety was all the league could afford this year. In all, nine players received MVP votes, with Jesse Mills (One Church) and Kyle Larter (River of Life Blue) finishing second and third in the voting respectively. Many thanks to the players and coaches for a great game, and for family and friends coming out to cheer them on. Can't wait for next year!
